AD Hunter
AD Hunter is a built-in ads blocking system. You can find all AD Hunter options in 'Options > Maxthon Options > AD Hunter'.
This is the same menu as the menu you see if you right-click on the AdHunter icon in the statusbar.
Proxy
Here you can add, modify and delete proxy servers. Add proxy servers to the list under the proxy directory.
If you have already installed proxy servers, you may use the following two ways to activate or shut the proxy servers:
  1. Use the menu item 'Options > Proxy' to activate or shut the proxy servers.
  2. Use the tool bar button 'Proxy Server' to promptly switch between the proxy servers.
Download Control
Here can you define what Maxthon will show, allow or not. Load Images, Videos or Sounds. Allow Scripts, Java Applet, ActiveX or Flash.
Remember that the 'disable Flash' setting disables flash for all browsers based on Internet Explorer!

Use Address Bar Search
Maxthon allows you to input keywords in the address bar to perform a search. If the default search engine (Defined by the * Alias in Maxthon Options > Search) is Google, Maxthon's address bar will be equivalent to the search box of the GoogleBar in its use.
Use URL Alias
Some great websites URL are difficult to remember. How can we make a quick access to these websites without having to input a rather complicated URL? To solve the problem, you may add it to your bookmark folder. Another alternative is to use URL alias.
The name says it all. Maxthon's URL Alias feature is used to set an &quot ;alias&quot ; for a certain website. When you type the URL's alias in the address bar, Maxthon will navigate to the real but rather complicated URL. Configure an alias in Maxthon Options &gt ; Address Bar &gt ; URL Alias
Use URL Key
Key F2 - F12 can be defined in Maxthon Options > Keyboard' with an URL of a webpage. If you click on the key, the website will be opened.
Browse Modes
These are the differences:
  1. Default - links open in the same window, new tabs open in the background.
  2. Standard - links in the same window, new tabs open in the foreground.
  3. News - links open in new windows, new tabs in the background
Default Browser
Here you can set Maxthon as your Default Browser. Not all program start Maxthon because they have hardcoded IE as browser. You can Also restore last default browser in this menu.
Status Bar
Organize the Status Bar and prohibit scrolling text on the status bar. Then you do not see messages from webpages on the status bar anymore.
Maxthon Options
Here you can change all Maxthon settings.
